The shoulder is a complex unstable joint of the body and is now one of the commonest causes for a visit to the doctor after headache and backache.  With the constant demand on the shoulders within the workplace, sporting activities and repetition injury to the shoulders are very common e.g. impingement, rotator cuff tear, instability, frozen shoulder and SLAP (superior labral tear from anterior to posterior) lesion.

In the last ten years improvement in diagnosis, management and surgery with the grace of arthroscopic surgery has made a significant difference.

Another problem with the shoulder is arthritis which depends on the soft tissue competency and the joint destruction and the movement dictates the management.
